Titanium rod production:

Titanium rods are produced from titanium sponge through several processes. The first is the production of titanium sponge, which involves the chlorination of chlorinated rutile ore, coke and chlorine are mixed with rutile to produce titanium tetrachloride, and titanium tetrachloride reacts with magnesium in a closed system. The vacuum distillation process is used to remove magnesium and magnesium so that it can be recycled. In electron beam furnaces or vacuum arc extinguishing furnaces, sponges melt with alloying elements such as aluminum, vanadium, tin, zirconium, and molybdenum. It will produce re-die-cast electrodes that can be die-cast or VAR smelted into slabs - titanium rods are obtained by further processing of cast or forged slabs.
